Western Florida Second Jurisdiction Awards Scholarships for 2019-20

Western Florida Second Jurisdiction COGIC has done it again.

 

For the second year in a row, Western Florida Second has increased the amount awarded in scholarships to help students who will attend college this fall.

 

On August 1, 2019, funds totaling $2,500 in scholarships were awarded to college students. South Florida District COGIC member Chanieya O’Neal received a $1,000 scholarship, NewLife COGIC member E’lexis Taylor received $700, Tildenville COGIC member Alaisha Alston received $500 and Master’s Domain COGIC member Destiny Harris received a $300 scholarship.

 

 

Under the leadership of Bishop Larry E. Perkins and Youth Department President Dr. DeMetra Williams, the jurisdiction provides scholarship opportunities to college students. The program is limited to students who are members of a church within the Western Florida Second Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.

Perkins, that provides support for the personal and spiritual enrichment of affiliated churches and their communities. The jurisdiction consists of 30+ churches, focused on bringing a variety of community services and programs.
