Temple of God Church of God in Christ (COGIC) teamed up with several organizations in Taylor county, Florida on Saturday, August 17th to distribute food, supplies and clothing to individuals in need. Over 700 families were served, due to the collaborative efforts of non-profit organizations and local business donations.
Calvary Baptist Church, which is one of the largest churches in the area, donated hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas, paper plates and cups. Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church donated rolls of toilet paper and Farm Share assisted with food distribution. Although it was a vast amount of donations, the effort didn’t stop there. Funeral homes, judges, city and county officials, and several others donated canisters of deodorant, toothbrushes, bottles of water, bags of ice and clothing from Walmart. Many others provided donations. Here’s a list of the co-sponsors of the event.
